How Do You Start an Online Business?

Today’s poor economy is driving many people to open their own business. The Internet has made it possible to open a business with much less startup capital than ever before. Huge fortunes are being amassed as new millionaires are being born every day. More and more individuals and families are achieving the lifestyles of their dreams by starting online businesses.

But, what do you need to know to start an online business?

Of course, you must have a product line that you believe in and that excites you. If you don’t wholly believe in the product, you will lose interest in the business. The product line needs to be something that is in demand.

To start an online business, you need a good website that describes your product and that is capable of accepting payments. The website should have links to additional information and should include a contact page so the customers’ questions can be answered.

Most importantly, you need to drive quality traffic to your website to start an online business. There are many ways to do this, but it is important that you learn which methods are effective and which are not. Otherwise, you will become frustrated as you try one method and then another and waste your time and money on ineffective strategies.

The best way to learn effective internet marketing as you start an online business is to learn from the professionals. You need to align yourself with successful internet marketers who can teach you exactly how to develop the quality traffic streams that are crucial to starting an online business.

It is also important to have the assistance of experienced sales associates who can help you with customer communication and closing sales. A first rate support staff is also an invaluable resource in starting an online business.

Remember, to start an online business and become successful with it, you must be sure that you are providing value for your customers. You must be honest in your endeavors and remain above reproach. You need to be transparent and approachable. Earn the trust of your customers, and keep it by giving them what they need.

This is the right time and the right place to start an online business. Now is the time to take action and go for it! Without action, your dreams will never be realized. So do your research, make a commitment, and move forward knowing that you will never quit. Persevere through all obstacles until you reach your goals!

iPhone Marketing Strategies – Three Easy Ways to Go Mobile

Technology has now made it possible for the average internet marketer to promote and publish their digital content into an iPhone app. There are three main ways to use your own iPhone app to generate traffic, expand your market reach and tap into extra revenue streams not normally available without having a mobile presence. Push button iPhone publishing is a cost effective way to distribute, give away, or sell your digital content.

The iPhone is undoubtedly the most popular smart phone on the market today. What’s not to like? Along with its awesome iTouch Technology, wide screen interface, social connectivity, SMS text messaging and email capabilities and built in Safari browser, you have access to thousands of games, utilities, and social networking applications.

Competing against such a vast volume of software programs would seem to be a daunting task, yet we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg. Most of the social buzz has centered around the “best sellers” leaving the impression that there is no room left for the average internet entrepreneur to get in on the action. It’s simply not true.

Have you ever thought of publishing and marketing your own cellphone” target=”_blank”>iPhone App? More and more digital content is finding its way into Apple’s AppStore. Why not yours? If you currently have your own digital content then getting it published in the form of an iPhone app has never been easier.

Technology has now made it cost effective for the average internet entrepreneur to easily publish their own app without knowing anything whatsoever about coding. Forget about learning AppleScript, xcode, Objective “C”, Cocoa Touch, or how to program java into the iPhone’s OS. Never mind about having to purchase Apple’s SDK developers kit and a Mac.

Numerous companies have come online that offer the would-be iphone marketer a push-button solution. Basically, your app platform already exists; you just have to fill it with your own content. Of course, if you wanted to create a sophisticated game or utility, then you would have to learn to code it yourself or hire a developer to do it for you.

Why publish your own app? What are the advantages of getting your digital content into the Marketplace?

First of all, by making your content available as an iPhone app you immediately gain access to the expanding mobile market. The majority of experts agree that most internet browsing in the future will be done from wireless mobile devices such as the iPhone 3gs and other smart phones. Making your content “mobile” automatically expands your market reach. Because your app will be hosted on its own server, you can update your app any time you want.

There are three main ways you can generate extra traffic and expand your marketing presence by going mobile.

Three iPhone Marketing Strategies:

The Giveaway: Smart marketers have been giving away their content as a way to generate new traffic and convert existing leads into paying customers ever since the internet first began. It works. An iPhone app is just another method of distribution. Many marketers have already discovered the value in distributing their digital content through iTunes, mainly in the form of audio and video podcasts.

But to pull this off successfully you have to offer more than just a four-page “Special Report”. While you don’t need to publish a lengthy book, you should offer something substantial. Turning your blog into an iPhone app is another possibility to be considered.

The Option or Add-on: Are you currently selling an online digital product? Consider adding your own iPhone app as an “option” or “addition” to your regular product and make it available on your sales page.

For instance, say you have a how-to digital ebook already for sale, you can allow your new customer to download your app for free (using a special discount code provided by Apple) or make it available for a small “extra” fee. The same strategy can be used from the AppStore.

The Mobile Blog/Advertising Model: Many website owners and bloggers monetize their sites with advertising revenue. Making your blog or website mobile is a good way to add an extra revenue stream to your business with content you already have.

There are many mobile advertising networks and agencies out there, but the largest of them is AdMob, which has already served a few billion ad units to millions of consumers. Before you rush into this kind of venture, you should check out the demographics first – not all web content is suitable for mobile advertising. A blog about knitting won’t attract too much advertising revenue!

Targeting and relevance is not as advanced as say Google’s AdSense, but I suspect this will improve now that Google has bought AdMob for a reported $750 million.

Doing business with AdMob is as simple as pasting their code into your iPhone app. And they provide you with the metrics and analytics you need in order to maximize your revenue streams.

Going mobile is definitely part of the future of IM. Don’t miss out.

Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimization

Are you considering internet marketing as a business model to drive more traffic to your website. If not, you should otherwise you will lose out on a great potential income stream for your business. Internet marketing is a relative inexpensive way of reaching your target audience compared to other methods. It is great way to sell your products and services online using your website.

However to be successful online you have to have a very strong website. In other words a website that can convert visitors to your site into clients. What’s the point of driving a huge amount of traffic to your site but very few of them convert into clients. So, it is important to sort out your website before you before you start marketing your site.

And the key to making your website profitable is to optimize your website for Google. The process of optimizing your website for the search engines is known as search engine optimization and includes any efforts you make to get your website to show up in Google.

Search optimization or SEO is a very valuable tool for online marketers and it plays a critical role in their online success. What sets search engine optimization apart from paid advertising methods like pay per click (PPC) for example is the fact that it won’t cost you anything to drive traffic to your site once you are listed on top of the search engine results. Of course your time spend on SEO is an opportunity cost but SEO remains relatively inexpensive to do.

I’m not saying that this will be easy to do, but once your site is rank in the top half of the search rankings you will get an enormous influx of organic (free) traffic to your site. But, as I mentioned right from the start that search engine optimization does not stop with improving your site’s ranking. You have to structure the content on your site in such a way that it boost your visitors interest once they come to your site.

So your content needs to be original and informative to captivate your visitors attention. The navigation of your site should also be user friendly and visitors should find what they are looking for within one or two clicks.

You will also need to look at onpage SEO factors and this involves what you can do on your website itself. On page SEO has to do with how your website is coded so that a search engine can recognize what your site is all about. On page SEO is not that important than what it used to be, but you still need to do it if you want to rank highly in the search engines.

There are many things at work at how search engines rank websites, but the most important of these are off page SEO factors.

SEO For Beginners? – Its the Backlinks You Don’t Know

Anyone starting providing with search engine optimisation services, will discover pretty early on, that everything relies on getting a good placement in the search engines. You will then go on to discover that not only has your site got to have lots of great content, it also has to be focused on the specific keywords that people are searching for.

Once you have mastered this and the rest of your “on page” SEO factors, you will then need to work on your “off page” factors. This is where you will understand that any search engine will use other sites that link to you as a reference as to how good your site is. Google and others will give you a “PageRank” which is a measure of the quality of your site or page.

PageRank? – How do I get one?

So Google doesn’t hand these out easily. What it looks for is the number and quality of links to your sites from other sites. How does it work out quality of links you ask? – well its PageRank again (PR). Links coming from sites with a high PR are determined to be of better quality than sites without. So getting links from lots of other sites with a higher PR is the way to go to get good PR for your site, and then get lifted into the first page of Google.

There are many companies who provide search engine optimisation services to help do this for you.

How do I get this myself?

So what you need to do, is find lots of sites with a good PR in your niche or topic, and then register an account with them, write an article with links back to your site, and then post it. Rinse and repeat about 20 times every 2-3 days. If you don’t want to do it yourself, then research sites or find people who provide search engine optimisation services and ask them, or read on.

So is this Hard? No – as long as you know where to go find the sites that allow you to post links on.

Laborious? Yes – work it out; Write an article, and create over 20 accounts on these websites, then create your submission. It would take me almost a whole day to that. Then to do it every other day. You are talking serious time and expense. Even if I was paid $10 per hour and it took me 8 hours to do all the posting, and I did it 3 times per week. Then I am looking at $960 per month just to provide search engine optimisation services for website.

Is there easier way?

Of course – You can use SEO software and this will do all the above completely on auto pilot. But are the links accurate and real. The links tend to look spammy, and search engines take a dim view to this. The best way is to outsource all the ranking of your site to get it the top of page one of the search engines. There are many companies who provide this, but this one not only gets you ranked to the top of the search engines, but more importantly focuses on converting the visitors into customers.

At the end of the day, what do you want? Lots of hits to your site, or lots of buyers? In summary, outsource your website ranking to a company that specialises in search engine optimisation services that way you have the comfort of knowing your in good hands, will get good visitors, but more importantly will get real buyers as well.

What’s Actually In A Search Engine Optimization Tool Box?

Congratulations! As a business owner you have chosen to establish a presence on the World Wide Web and you have just made public your site! Excited about your new found global presence, you check your site stats every day. Each day gets a little more disappointing as every day you see that you have only one or two visitors and a single order. Wait is that your mom’s address? We all love our moms but this is not what you had in mind when you started your on-line presence! It is at this point that most on-line businesses wane and eventually disappear! There is a fix for this and it is called in the developer world Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools.

Not complicated, a search engine optimization tool is a device used to improve the volume of traffic to your website. Consider it a tool that markets your site through the use of a backdoor which links to the ever important search engine ranking. Your search engine ranking is the single most important end result that you need for your site. A single SEO tool is not necessarily enough to make a difference but through the combined use of several options you will find yourself as a serious contender in today’s on-line marketplace.

SEO tool sets are becoming more available to the common user and thanks to quality developers, require less development skill and more creativity. As you develop your arsenal of tools designed to make your site stand out above the rest, do not count these out. Tools such as duplicate page checkers, back links, keyword density checkers are all valuable players, and like the pawns of a chess game, should be used to push your business forward in order to check mate the competition and open the virtual doors to your new customer base.

Duplicate page checkers allow you to compare your page to others with similar content. In this case, use the competition to gain an edge. A page that is too different may get lost in the bandwidth and forgotten by a consumer. A collective presence is not, in this case, a bad idea and will only gain you further exposure. Be sure, however to compare your search engine ranking. A similar page does that ranks low is not necessarily a good thing. Find a page that ranks in the top five and develop your page to align with theirs. You will find that customer base expand rapidly! Effective back links and other tools such as keyword density checkers are additional tools you can look for from your provider.

In the end, be sure to combine these search engine optimization tools in order to compete! Invest your time in understanding these and what they can do for you and find yourself winning customers and improving your business!
